S. representative for Maine's 2nd congressional district since 2019. A Democrat, he represents a district encompassing the northern four-fifths of the state, including the cities of Lewiston, Bangor, and Auburn, along with the state capital of Augusta. AIPAC is a pro-Israel lobbying group that spends on elections two ways. Its PAC collects donations from members and sends them to campaigns, where they become the candidate’s money to spend. Its super PAC, United Democracy Project, runs its own ads, and the candidate gets no say in those, whether they help or hurt.
