Politically Irritated ("we," "us") is a free tracker of the balance of power in Washington, D.C. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site.
What we collect
- No accounts. You don't sign up, and we don't ask for your name, email, or location.
- Your "vibe check" answer is stored only in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers it. It is never sent to us.
- Your light or dark mode choice is stored the same way, only in your browser.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability.
Advertising and cookies
We may show ads from third-party vendors, including Google. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
News headlines
Headlines in our news feed link to the original publishers. When you click one, you leave our site and that publisher's privacy policy applies.
Lawmaker profiles
Profiles contain only public information about elected officials and members-elect: official records, public statements, campaign finance filings, and openly licensed photos and text, each credited on the page.
Embeds
If you see our tracker embedded on another website, the embed loads from our servers and is covered by this policy. It does not set advertising cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have rights to access, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we don't keep personal profiles of visitors, most requests will concern data held by ad vendors; contact us and we'll help.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
